Duties
Full-time position for a Special Education Teacher for Franklin Jefferson Counties Special Education District #801. FJSPED Special Education teachers work in specialized programs for students with disabilities. The Communication Disorder/Autism Program is a highly regarded program for students in 4th to 8th grade who have Autism Spectrum Disorder or other communication disorders. The program focuses on daily life skills, social emotional skills, developmentally aligned instructional goals, and so much more!
Technology is built into the program, and a sensory room is utilized to help our kids reach their potential.
Mentoring program starting August 2022 - new teachers will be part of a mentoring program designed to support and help new teachers learn and grow just as our learners do. Professional development and training to continually develop our skills to best support our learners is what FJSPED is all about!!
Must have proper Illinois certification/license, or ability to obtain emergency certification.
Qualifications
Current LBS1 License or in process of obtaining license is preferred.
