Duties
A call-in substitute teacher at Kiefer School and/or the Academy for Autism is a job that is filled with variety. Substitutes will be assigned to various classrooms in the absence of regularly assigned teachers. Substitutes will encounter a wide array of ages, ability levels and disabilities at Kiefer. A substitute teacher at Kiefer MUST be flexible!!
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Teaching Certificate, and certification in special education preferred. Experience working with special education students desirable.Demonstrates the ability to relate effectively to students, parents and staff; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children, staff and families served; ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; works effectively within a treatment team; ability to handle job related matters in a professional, confidential manner.

Kiefer School and the Academy for Autism are ISBE approved and accredited private special education schools that serves approximately 100 students.
