Duties
2025-2026 School Year:
To aide students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
Reports to: Building Principal/Classroom Teacher.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Classroom Paraprofessional shall be directly responsible to the building principal, but work with the classroom teacher to facilitate successful learning experiencese for children.
- Work under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Work directly with students.
- Reinforce teacher instruction.
- Work with small groups in the classroom.
- Assist with student assessment.
- Perform other duties assigned by the classroom teacher and/or building principal, which the employee is qualified to perform.
Qualifications
Must hold an Illinois Paraprofessional License, a STA or STS License, a Sub-Teaching License, or a Professional Educator License.
Experience with children is required. In addition, this person shall possess the personal characteristics and ability to work closely and cooperatively with district staff.
All qualifications are considered essential to fulfill the requirements for the position of Classroom Paraprofessional.
Salary/Benefits
Salary: Placed as appropriate by the MESPA guidelines. (starting at $18.63 /hour)
Benefits: Personal and Sick days per MESPA contract
