Duties
The Vermilion Association for Special Education is seeking a special education teacher for our public therapeutic day school, Middlefork School. Special eduation teachers in our school have 6-8 kids per caseload. Lots of support is offered the new teachers in the area of IEP writing, lesson planning, and student de-escalation. Teachers are provided with mentorship from a board certified behavior analyst. All classroom have support of a paraprofessional!
The Vermilion Association for Special Education offers tailored professional development opportunities at no cost to the teacher. A $3,000 sign-on bonus, and a $1500 bonus is offered every three years of service as retention incentive.
Qualifications
ISBE LBS-I licensure or Regular Education License and willingness to complete coursework for LBSI Emergency Certification with financial support from the cooperative.
Salary/Benefits
Competitive according to VEA contract. Contract is posted in VASE website (www.vase.k12.il.us) under "State Required Documents." Board paid TRS and health insurance. Salary no lower than $40,771. Placement on the schedule depends on experience.
