Duties
The position is part-time Social Studies teacher primarily in the 8th grade setting and Activities Director. The day is split with teaching responsibilities and activity director duties. Teaching duties may include World Geography and Cultures, European History, US History and current events. Knowledge of the C3 framework Social Studies Standards and Common Core Standards for Reading. Candidates with experience with diverse instructional strategies and a background in Rti and progress monitoring are preferred. The Middle School Activities Director will provide leadership in the scheduling, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of all middle school activities. This position will also promote extracurricular athletic and non-athletic programs, along with an appreciation of sportsmanship for students and adults. We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills to work collaboratively with the Fans Club (Booster Club), high school athletic director and the middle school principal. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills to balance the demands of the position, and technology skills primarily with the Google platform. This position is offered as a stipend position along with a teaching contract. The evaluation of the athletic director position will be conducted by the middle school principal.
Qualifications
Secondary certified Social Studies teacher and type 75 (preferred)
Salary/Benefits
Per the five-year PNA, the base salary will be at least $42,000. Will be negotiating a new contract this school year. the district pays full TRS on top of the base salary and also pays 70% of single insurance. Candidates with additional coursework and experience will be placed accordingly on the salary schedule. There is also a contracted stipend paid in addition to the salary schedule based on qualifications and experience.
Additional Notes
This position may include a coaching position at the middle or high school level if the applicant is interested.
