1st Grade Maternity Leave Substitute

Duties

  • Manage daily instruction
  • Implement lesson plans provided and create lesson plans
  • Maintain classroom routines
  • Support the social, emotional, and physical safety of students during the primary teacher's absence
  • Maintain professional correspondence with parents and colleagues
  • Maintain regular correspondence with primary teacher

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching license or substitute license
  • Successful completion of background check requirements
  • Ideal candidate will have familiarity with foundational reading frameworks
  • Basic skill competency with classroom technology and digital platforms

Additional Notes

1st grade classroom with 20 students and a classroom aide; supportive administration and collaborative staff

Anticipated time frame: mid-January through very early April 2027
