Duties

• Provide district-level leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of programs, policies, procedures, and systems that promote student safety, well-being, and success.
• Develop and oversee district-wide systems and strategies for the prevention, identification, response, management, and evaluation of student crises, ensuring consistent and effective practices across schools.
• Provide leadership, consultation, and administrative support to district and building administrators and teams regarding complex student matters, behavioral concerns, school safety, crisis prevention and intervention, and other situations affecting student safety, well-being, or the school environment.
• Collaborate with district leadership, committees, law enforcement, emergency responders, community agencies, and other partners to develop and maintain coordinated practices, procedures, and systems that support safe, supportive, and orderly school environments.
• Provide leadership and support for student-centered initiatives and school improvement efforts aligned with district priorities and the needs of students and families.
• Collaborate with Information Services to provide leadership and support for the verification of student residency as part of the registration process.
• Provide leadership for the development and coordination of professional learning related to crisis prevention and intervention, student support systems, and other areas within Student and Family Services.
• Oversee the development, annual review, revision, and implementation of the District's Student Handbook and Student Rights and Responsibilities, ensuring alignment with district policies, procedures, and applicable laws and requirements.
• Provide collaborative district-level leadership and oversight of school-based behavioral threat assessment processes, in coordination with the administrator overseeing district social workers and psychologists, to ensure consistent implementation, training, guidance, and support for building teams.
• Serve as a district-level resource and point of contact for administrators, employees, students, and families regarding significant or complex matters involving student behavior, student support, safety, and school-based crises.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to advance district initiatives related to student safety and well-being and to remain informed of emerging practices, resources, and trends.
• Provide district-level oversight and coordination of partnerships with professional care organizations and community-based providers supporting school-based services, including the development and implementation of appropriate care coordination processes and procedures.
• Represent the District in community partnerships and outreach efforts that strengthen access to resources, services, and supports for students and families.
• Ensure Student and Family Services practices are implemented in accordance with FERPA, ISSRA, and other applicable federal and state laws, regulations, district policies, and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide leadership and oversight for the district-wide implementation, coordination, and evaluation of restorative practices that support positive school climate and culture, ensuring alignment with district priorities and consistency across schools.
• Provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction to establish priorities, expectations, and accountability measures aligned with district and departmental goals.
• Monitor and support district programs, initiatives, and responsibilities related to student mental health and well-being, ensuring effective implementation and progress toward identified goals.
• Ensure the work of the department is coordinated and aligned with the broader priorities and responsibilities of Student and Family Services and the District.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to present effectively to both large and small groups.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR LICENSE WITH GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE K-12 ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years of Student Services experience preferred. In order to be able to evaluate assigned personnel, must successfully complete the State pre-qualification program and training program for principal and teacher evaluators. This requirement can be completed post hire.

Salary/Benefits

Hiring range: $155,000- $185,000

Salary range: $155,000-$230,000
