Duties
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The PAC Assistant Technical Director works closely with the Technical Director to oversee, operate, and maintain all technical assets for the Performing Arts Center and Centennial Black Box Theater, with a primary focus on full-spectrum lighting and live sound support. Serving District 158 productions, external events, dance, music, and theatrical performances, key responsibilities center on operating and programming lighting consoles, maintaining automated lighting fixtures, running live sound systems, coordinating wireless frequencies, and rapidly troubleshooting audio issues. Additionally, this role oversees general event execution—independently setting up, operating, and striking production equipment for shows, presentations, and rehearsals—while supervising student crews, assisting with scene shop builds, managing inventory, and maintaining a flexible work schedule for evening and weekend events.
Qualifications
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: Requires working knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures of theatre, dance, and music productions and presentations; appropriate safety precautions and procedures; basic CAD/Vector design programs; operational knowledge of ETC Eos products and consoles (ETC Gio and Element); DMX knowledge and troubleshooting skills; working knowledge of live sound reinforcement and equipment; working knowledge of video production and professional video standards; knowledge of theatrical rigging practices; ability to design and construct theatrical scenery; must be highly self-directed. Technical Theatre Degree or Concentration a plus; A minimum of three years experience working in technical production (student and part-time experience will be accepted).
Salary/Benefits
RANGE OF PAY: $23.00 – $25.00 / Hour. Salary commensurate with education and experience
