Administrative Assistant to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction
 
REPORTS TO:      Director of Curriculum and Instruction
SUPERVISES:      N/A
FLSA Status:       Non-Exempt
 

Description: Secretary to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Job Summary:

  • Perform a large volume of complex secretarial tasks for various programs within the Curriculum and Instruction Department
  • Answer departmental phone calls and respond to requests for information and take messages for staff members in a courteous, effective manner
  • Handle and file confidential records, correspondence, grants, and data
  • Assist the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in day-to-day operations
  • Monitor and track expenditure activity for all Title Grants
  • Coordinate and assist in all events related to curriculum and instruction
  • Register and organize all professional development activities
  • Possess and understand the school district level of confidentiality
  • Have excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Maintain book inventory
  • Prioritize to meet time constraints and deadlines for scheduled programs and events

 
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferably experience in school office setting or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher)
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently



OTHER

  1. Assist with school orders.
  2. Follows the District Code of Ethics
  3. Adheres to the published policies and procedures of the District as published on the District Website.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning.


EVALUATION
            Annual evaluation will be completed by the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations.
 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School diploma, post-secondary education preferred.
  2. Office experience required, preferably in a school district.
  3. Multi-tasker with the ability to maintain focus on priorities.
  4. Self-motivated individual who can address duties independently.
  5. Background in school district business practices.
  6. Computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word, data processing systems software
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Integrity, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range: $35,000-50,000

EMPLOYMENT TERMS
Work year of twelve months (260 days)
Eight hours per day (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Twelve paid sick days
Four paid personal days 
Yearly vacation days as stated in Policy 5:330.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
