Duties

1. Assist students with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routine.  
2. Will assist the student in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session.  
3. Assist the teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks related to the individual student.  
4. Will aid the student and teacher to ensure success of the student in meeting his/her IEP goals.  
5. Escorts students to mainstream class and remains with students – for an inclusion relationship.
6. Escorts students to all classes, lunch, P.E., library, etc.
7. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and their families and other employees outside the school as expected of fully licensed teachers
8. Applicants must be physically able to assist students throughout the building. 
9. Experience with special needs children preferred. 
10. Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students
11. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills, make decisions, resolve conflict, and effectively work with staff, students, and administration.

High School Diploma 

Must pass all background checks required by law and board policy

Salary/Benefits

$15.00 per hour
