Assistant Transportation Director
10 Month Position, Full-Time (8 hr./day – Monday-Friday)
Health Insurance, Life Insurance, IMRF Retirement, Sick leave, Personal days
Salary to be determined by experience
Reports to: Transportation Director
Start Date: September 15, 2026
Deadline to apply: September 4, 2026
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- CDL w/School Bus License
- Experience driving a bus preferred
- Possess and/or be willing to earn a current State of Illinois commercial driver’s license and school bus permit
- Experience in routing preferred
- Supervision experience preferred
- General knowledge of school buses and related equipment
- Leadership qualities
- Demonstrated abilities in interviewing, employing, and evaluating personnel
- Knowledge of Effingham School District #40 road system
- Pass Background Check
Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 Based on Experience
