Duties

• Plan and supervise regular Student Council meetings, including setting agendas and guiding discussion
• Oversee the Student Council election process, including candidate eligibility, campaign guidelines, and voting procedures
• Advise elected officers and class representatives in their leadership roles and responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise major school events such as Homecoming, prom, spirit weeks, pep rallies, and awards assemblies
• Organize and supervise community service, service-learning, and fundraising projects sponsored by Student Council
• Manage the Student Council budget, fundraising proceeds, and vendor coordination in accordance with district financial procedures
• Coordinate with other student organizations, clubs, and class sponsors on joint events and school-wide initiatives
• Ensure all Student Council activities align with school policies, values, and code of conduct
• Communicate regularly with administration, staff, parents, and the student body regarding Student Council activities
• Attend Student Council events, which may occur outside regular school hours, including evenings and weekends
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from a broad range of students
• Mentor students in public speaking, event planning, budgeting, teamwork, and civic responsibility
• Support officer transition and leadership succession planning from year to year

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate or district staff eligibility
• Experience working with high school-age students
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to supervise student events outside of regular school hours

Salary/Benefits

Salary as determined by Cairo Association of Teachers contract
