School Safety Officer

Duties

WHAT DO SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICERS DO?

 

Your Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Campus Safety: Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors across campus.
  • Support Student Well-Being: Monitor student behavior and support everyday safety during school operations and activities.
  • Respond & Protect: Address and resolve security concerns or incidents at your assigned building and other district facilities as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Active or retired law enforcement officer in good standing with prior agency and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any licenses, certifications, training, or qualifications required for assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to successfully complete criminal background checks and other employment screenings required by law and District policy. 

Salary/Benefits

Pay Rate: Starting at $25.00 per hour
