Job Overview
The Technology Director Assistant provides high-level administrative, technical, and operational support to the District Technology Director and the technology department. This role serves as a key liaison between the technology department, district staff, and external partners. Responsibilities include assisting with district data management and state reporting, managing routine IT helpdesk requests, maintaining digital communication channels, and supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the technology department.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Administrative & Technical Support
- Serve as the primary administrative assistant to the District Technology Director, handling scheduling, department documentation, asset tracking, and vendor communications.
- Assist the technology team in monitoring, prioritizing, and responding to staff helpdesk requests and technical support needs across the district.
- Coordinate technology logistics, equipment deployment, and inventory audits for staff and student devices.
- Assist in preparing and delivering timely, relevant technology training and documentation for district staff.
Data Management & Reporting
- Work with building secretaries, school counselors, and administrators to ensure student, staff, and course data remains accurate within the Student Information System (Skyward).
- Manage required state data uploads, including the ISBE Student Information System (SIS) submissions.
- Handle roster and data synchronization across various educational software platforms and learning management tools.
District Communications
- Collaborate with staff to maintain, update, and manage the district website.
- Manage and publish timely updates, announcements, and positive district news across official social media platforms and communication channels.
Other Duties
- Perform other technology- and administrative-related duties as assigned by the District Technology Director or Superintendent.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Candidates without a degree who demonstrate exceptional technical aptitude, relevant administrative experience, and strong problem-solving skills will be fully considered.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency with Student Information Systems (e.g., Skyward) and state reporting portals (e.g., ISBE SIS) preferred.
- Familiarity with website management tools, content management systems (CMS), and social media platforms.
- Fundamental understanding of IT hardware, basic networking concepts, and standard educational software/hardware ecosystems.

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Demonstrated discretion, integrity, and sound judgment when handling confidential student and district data.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn emerging educational technologies.
Salary/Benefits
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000.
Insurance: Employee health insurance is provided by the district.
