HS Business Teacher

Duties

  • This position will be responsible for implementing the Business curriculum.  Class include Intro to Business, Marketing, Financial Planning, Business Computer Applications, and Accounting
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials facilitating active learning.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
  • Actively participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed.
  • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning all assigned students' academic progress.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain parental information when requested, promptly return phone calls, and answer emails.
  • Previous teaching experience with high school math students is desired but not required.  All candidates should have an active and appropriate Illinois teaching license for this position.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement for HS Business

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary placement schedule: Up to 20 years of experience, including out-of-state and private schools, is granted. Any raises are factored into placement salary after year 1. Placement Matrix for 26-27
  • Full Board-paid TRS
  • $780 board contribution toward health insurance-Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • 14 sick days, three personal days
  • Children can attend Maroa-Forsyth Schools even if they live outside the district, as long as the parent or guardian is a full-time employee.
