Behavior Intervention Coach

Duties

 

The Behavior Intervention Coach will provide consultation to teams as well as direct support to students who are identified as exhibiting behavioral difficulties which impede their social development and academic success. This includes conducting functional behavioral analysis and writing behavior intervention/management plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with staff to identify students in need of significant behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with families and staff to develop and implement strategies for individual students. This should include making classroom visits, scheduling meetings between the family and school personnel to support all involved and making in-home visits to support the family. 
  • Work directly with students to implement strategies that allow the student to successfully learn in the general education classroom. The caseload will be no more than 10-15 students at any one time.
  • Assist with the development, writing, and implementation of student FBA’s, BIP’s including data collection, implementation fidelity, and analysis of data. Including ensuring this information is communicated to all necessary staff including teachers and paraprofessionals who work with the student. 
  • Give ongoing modeling, feedback, and coaching to staff related to both student behavior reduction and skill acquisition.
  • Coordinate behavior interventions between school and home. This should include providing information to parents on ways to follow through with behavioral interventions at home.
  • Provide required reporting on all levels of student interventions and programs implemented.
  • Maintain compliance with rules of confidentiality, FERPA, RTO, and mandated reporting procedures. 
  • Work with the School Resource Officer to identify ways to proactively engage with students in the school setting and to support and mentor specific students. 
  • Assist with evaluating, supervising, and coordinating the schedule of building social workers. 
  • Assist with the evaluation of all paraprofessionals at Clara Peterson Elementary.
  • Assist district and building administration with coordinating and facilitating mentoring and induction activities for all paraprofessionals throughout the district. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Hold a Type 75 or candidate will be expected to obtain.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, track, and report potential causes of specific behaviors.
  • Knowledge of research-based interventions and strategies.
  • Ability to train staff and parents on behavioral interventions. 
  • Flexibility with scheduling for optimum student support.

Salary/Benefits

The base pay for this position is $65,000. District pays employee health insurance and TRS. Final salary to be negotiated and commensurate with experience.

Additional Notes

The Behavior Intervention Coach reports to the Building Principal and Superintendent.
