Duties
Tamaroa Grade School District #5 is seeking a dedicated and student-centered educator to serve as our 1st–4th Grade Reading Teacher. This position includes serving as the homeroom teacher for 1st and 2nd grade students while providing reading instruction for grades 1–4. The successful candidate will also teach Science and Social Studies to 1st and 2nd grade students. Applicants should demonstrate a passion for literacy, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to fostering academic growth in a supportive, family-oriented school environment. Illinois Professional Educator License required.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate elementary education endorsements. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of literacy instruction and best practices for teaching reading at the elementary level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective classroom management, the ability to build positive relationships with students and families, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to meeting the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of all learners. Experience with data-driven instruction, intervention strategies, and elementary Science and Social Studies instruction is preferred.
