This position plays a vital role in supporting our students, staff, and community by ensuring our facilities and grounds are maintained to the highest standards.

Position Responsibilities

The Custodian will assist in maintaining district buildings and grounds through:

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and locker rooms
• Floor care, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and refinishing floors
• Building maintenance and minor repairs
• Snow removal and ice treatment of sidewalks and entrances
• Grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep
• Assisting with building inspections and preventative maintenance activities
• Setting up and tearing down for school and community events
• Assisting with deliveries and moving furniture or equipment as needed
• Supporting emergency procedures, safety drills, and facility operations
• Maintaining a safe, attractive, and efficient learning environment for students and staff

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Knowledge of appropriate cleaning techniques
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and building maintenance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access crawl spaces when necessary
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and community members

Salary/Benefits

• Full-time position
• Work schedule determined by the Superintendent/Principal
• Salary and benefits established according to the collective bargaining agreement
• Benefits include eligibility for health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement
