Special Education LBS1 Teacher
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan daily lessons using best instructional practices aligned with student goals
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members and families
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify student needs
- Monitor and document student progress using data collection tools
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians through meetings, reports, and updates
- Support positive student behavior and implement BIPs as needed
- Maintain accurate records and comply with legal and school policy requirements
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and mentor classroom support staff
- Use platforms such as Google Classroom, Unique Learning System, and Seesaw
- Be prepared to transition to remote learning when necessary

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 or appropriate Special Education Endorsements
- Knowledge of current special education laws, practices, and instructional strategies
- Proficiency with educational technology and remote learning platforms
