High School Principal

Duties

  • Exhibits support for the district’s vision, mission, and goals
  • Institutes and maintains a safe and effective learning environment in the school
  • Maintains student discipline and establishes a high standard of student conduct
  • Sustains and administers established law, regulations, and district policies and procedures
  • Leads in the formulation of curriculum and other instructional objectives
  • Attends and supervises student activities and events
  • Maintains confidentiality of both student and employee records
  • Promotes, evaluates, and supervises in collaboration with athletic director the co-curricular and extra-curricular programs
  • Develops in collaboration with the district office a staffing plan which will result in an effective instructional program for students
  • Evaluates and advises faculty and staff in their professional development and performance
  • Schedules and leads staff meetings to keep staff informed of current policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with the special education director in the effort to provide effective special education programs for district students
  • Administers the budget for the school
  • Accepts the responsibility for the safety and administration of safety protocols for the school’s physical plant and environment
  • Contributes in the recruitment, screening, employment, and evaluation of all staff
  • Strives to cooperate with the administration and faculty in the development of instructional programs and teaching techniques which serve the varying needs of students
  • Promotes a school climate that recognizes and supports the unique value of all students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a M.S. in school administration with a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the Principal Endorsement.
  • Successful secondary administrative experience and completion of PERA training preferred.  

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000

Benefits: Board paid TRS and employee health insurance
