Instructional Coach

Duties

  • Demonstrates knowledge of current trends in specialty area and professional development.
  • Identifies clear, specific, and appropriate goals for the instructional support program.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of resources, both within and beyond the school and district.
  • Plans a coherent program of instructional support fully integrated with the school program.
  • Develops a plan and process for the ongoing assessment and improvement of the instructional program.
  • Creates a respectful and emotionally safe culture that promotes collaboration.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous instructional improvement.
  • Develops processes and procedures for teachers to participate in professional learning activities.
  • Establishes clearly defined norms for professional conduct.
  • Collaborates with teachers to design rigorous, standards-based classroom instruction.
  • Addresses the instructional improvement needs of the teachers served.
  • Engages teachers in learning and implementing instructional strategies and practices.
  • Provides relevant and timely feedback to teachers.
  • Provides responsive professional support.
  • Reviews and reflects on practice to inform improvement.
  • Coordinates work with other instructional specialists.
  • Participates in a professional community.
  • Demonstrates professionalism by adhering to the standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by administration pertaining to aforementioned position.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements or as set by Illinois State Board of Education licensure authorities.

A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience preferred.
