JH Math Teacher

Duties

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive mathematics program of study for students in grades 5-8.
  • Utilize effective instructional strategies and assessment practices to support student growth and achievement.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of junior high students.
  • Maintain responsibility for the safety and well-being of students under direct supervision.
  • Develop and maintain lesson plans with clear learning objectives aligned to district and state standards.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and communicate achievement through progress reports and other reporting methods.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and guardians.
  • Assist administration in implementing district policies and student conduct expectations.
  • Establish and maintain a fair, consistent, and positive classroom management system.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional competence.
  • Attend faculty, team, and district meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by administration.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Mathematics endorsement.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and Faith's Law requirements.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is based upon education and experience according to the district salary schedule.
