FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER-2nd Shift

Duties

Primary Function (Job Goal)
Provides assistance with the supervision, planning, coordination and direction of District-wide custodial staff. Performs other related work as required. 

Reports To (accountability)
Director of Facilities and Operations

Supervisory Responsibilities
All custodial and maintenance staff

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:
1. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
2. Proven experience in reading floor plans.
3. Advanced office skills with experience in computerized energy management systems, spreadsheets, word processing, database, and facility management software.
4. Custodial experience within a school district or a large multi-building operation; supervisory experience preferred.
5. Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license, auto insurance and personal vehicle.
6. Ability to effectively direct and instruct others in the performance of custodial functions.
7. Exercise independent judgment and to formulate work procedures within the limits of the position to accomplish assigned tasks.
8. Develop district wide custodial work schedules.
9. Prepare reports, maintain accurate files and records.
10. Interpret and apply directives relating to worker health and safety.
11. Establish and maintain effective, productive working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the school community.
12. Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the preferred methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls and fixtures.
13. Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and operation.
14. Knowledge of cleaning materials, disinfectants, tools and equipment used in custodial work.
15. Knowledge of safety practices and sanitary regulations applicable to school buildings.
16. Knowledge of the principles of supervision and training.
17. Ability to work with a variety of people in a highly diverse environment.
18. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English; Bilingual preferred.
19. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
20. Passage of pre-employment medical examination, including Tuberculosis (TB) test and any other job specific required medical testing.
21. Pass a Regional Office of Education Fingerprint based Background Clearance including Federal Bureau of Investigation.
22. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board finds appropriate and acceptable may be
approved.

 Physical Demands:
1. This position requires walking. regular standing, ability to bend and physical dexterity.
2. Maintain physical condition necessary for heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
3. Bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, walking, standing or sitting.
4. Ability to work on uneven or slippery surfaces.
5. Ability to climb and work off ladders.
6. Must be able to meet the essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.

Working Conditions:
1. Duties of this position may vary and are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings.
2. Travel to various sites within the Troy School District and other locations is expected based on District needs.

Salary/Benefits

Terms of Employment:
District Staff/12 Months
Non-Union
Completion of mandated training through Global Compliance Network within 45 days of start date.

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.
 Salary:
Minimum Salary Starting at $68,000 to commensurate experience and qualifications
