Junior High ELA Teacher Share: Print: Duties Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned to state standards Teach reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening skills Develop lesson plans that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff members Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or administration Qualifications Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement(s) Middle school teaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Strong classroom management and communication skills Experience integrating technology into instruction preferred Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and student success Salary/Benefits Salary and benefits are based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.
