Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning

Duties

  1. Keep abreast of developments in curriculum and instruction, and furnish guidance in determining their appropriateness for inclusion in the district’s educational program.
  2. Submit written and/or oral reports, as necessary, on program development to the Superintendent.
  3. Develop and maintain such records and reports as are necessary for the successful execution of the job.
  4. Maintain active participation with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction at the State, Regional, and National levels for instructional programs including special education.
  5. Assist in the orientation and monitoring of all new Paxton-Buckley-Loda CUSD 10 employees in terms of the curriculum development process in the district.
  6. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
  7. Develop his/her own professional growth through reading, workshops, in-services, conferences, and/or advanced course work.
  8. Maintain adequate records, pupil data, proposals, district communications and all other forms of correspondence.
  9. Develop and maintain a public relations program relating all areas under the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning; including, communicative media, civic organizations, health department, etc.
  10. Coordinate all aspects of the employee onboarding process including, recruitment, maintaining job descriptions, development of job postings, monitoring mentoring program, and employee retention.
  11. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications

Master’s degree with a major in school administration or curriculum, Illinois Type 75 Administration Certificate or equivalent, minimum of three years of building leader experience.  Candidates must have EDS within three years of hire date.

Salary/Benefits

Benefits: Based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Insurance: Employee health insurance is provided by the district.

Salary Range: $103,000 - $120,000
