Coordinator of Preschool Services

Duties

  1. Track all PFA and PI expenditures.  Utilize purchase orders and credit card statements to code spending the appropriate grant line, while ensuring that overspending does not occur.
  2. Maintain PFA compliance using ISBE checklists (ECERS).
  3. Share program job opportunities and conduct interviews with potential hires.  Complete a reference check and collect proof of necessary licensure to ensure quality candidates are hired.
  4. Supervise PFA staff, including staff evaluations.
  5. Approve PFA staff use of paid/unpaid time off.  Coordinate coverage of classroom staff when time is requested off. 
  6. Approve and submit PFA reports to the ROE:  Biweekly time and effort and monthly expense reports.
  7. Prepare the yearly school calendar for both students and staff.  Work with the instructional leader to include the grant required training on professional learning days and early out Fridays.
  8. Prepare host site Memorandums of Understandings, collect necessary signatures, and ensure both parties are held accountable to items set forth in the MOUs.
  9. Visit each classroom weekly at a minimum. 
  10. Meet weekly with the instructional leader to plan for staff support and problem-solve ongoing issues.
  11. Facilitate a monthly PFA meeting with instructional leader, family educators, and administrative assistant
  12. Attend monthly early childhood community meetings: Early Childhood Forum of Central Illinois, Local Interagency Council, PFA Directors Meeting, and PFA(E) Program Support Group Meetings.
  13. Plan and facilitate monthly Pyramid Model Leadership Team meetings.
  14. Facilitate behavior support meetings and ensure plans are executed to fidelity.
  15. Co-lead (alongside contracted Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant) monthly reflective supervision meetings with PFA classroom team.
  16. Coordinate monthly nutrition presentations with OSF Nutritionist.
  17. Submit necessary information to ROE for reporting: GATA, Civil Rights Data, Enrollment, Classroom site data, and Immunizations.
  18. Ensure staff technology is in working order.  Set up new devices including logging equipment, requesting ROE emails, connection to printers and bluetooth devices.
  19. Participate in PFA and PI family engagement activities: open house, family fun nights, parent groups, and advisory council.
  20. Resolve family conflict after unsuccessful remediation with classroom staff and family educators.
  21. Meet with staff and families when needed.
  22. Perform other incidental tasks consistent with both the goals and objectives of the Illinois State Board of Education’s Early Childhood Block Grant.

Qualifications

  1. High degree of multi-tasking and time management capability
  2. Ability to maintain accurate detailed records
  3. Experience teaching at the preschool level, preferably in an ISBE funded classroom
  4. Professional Educator’s License, Administrative Endorsement

Salary/Benefits

$70,000 - $85,000 annual salary. Sick, personal, and vacation days. TRS position with health insurance benefits. Full-time, 12-month schedule.

Additional Notes

Normal work day is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
