- Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods, etc. as well as proven methods of maximizing the educational experience of students with special needs.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Qualifications
Illinois licensure as a school speech and language pathologist
Additional Notes
The position is split between two schools; two days at Schafer and two days at the Early Childhood Center. This is a .8 total FTE. If Bilingual Certified, this position will be increase by .2 to equal a 1.0 FTE. The additional .2 (1 day) will be set aside for bilingual speech evaluations.
