Duties
Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking compassionate and dependable Paraprofessionals to support students in the COMPASS classroom. The COMPASS program provides structured academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students who require additional interventions to be successful in the school setting. The paraprofessional will work closely with certified staff to support student learning, behavior management, and daily classroom routines while helping create a safe, positive, and supportive environment. This position works closely with students who have moderate-severe disabilities within a functional life skills curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students in the COMPASS classroom under the supervision of certified staff.
- Assist with implementing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
- Support students with classroom assignments, organization, and task completion.
- Help maintain a structured, calm, and supportive learning environment.
- Assist with behavior monitoring, de-escalation strategies, and reinforcement plans.
- Supervise students during transitions, breaks, lunch, or other assigned times.
- Collect and maintain student progress and behavior data as directed.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
