Duties

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is accepting applications for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Pre-Kindergarten Paraprofessional. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to a student within the preschool setting while assisting with instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, and daily living needs under the direction of certified staff and related service personnel. The paraprofessional will help foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.  This is a cross categorical position working one-on-one with students that have a wide range of abilities and needs.

This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 support to a preschool student throughout the school day.
• Assist with implementation of instructional activities and behavioral supports as directed by the classroom teacher and support staff.
• Support student participation in classroom routines, learning activities, transitions, and peer interactions.
• Assist with communication, social-emotional development, and self-help skills.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administration regarding student needs and progress.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate documentation related to student services.

Qualifications

• Must have a Paraprofessional (Aide) or teaching license (short-term Paraprofessional License approval option is available).
• Applicant must be able to pass a physical ability test.  
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow student support plans and work collaboratively as part of a team.
