Technology Coordinator

Duties

  • Shall provide technical/internet support to the ROE office and its staff.  
  • Shall provide professional development opportunities for local school districts.  The technology coordinator will work with our Director of Professional Learning to establish dates for training to take place.
  • Shall increase the ROE’s digital footprint via social media postings and offerings. 
  • Shall maintain and update the website for the ROE office.  
  • Shall lead multimedia projects to promote educational programming available in the ROE 35 region to best meet the needs of students and to showcase Excellence in Education from educational programs and school districts.   
  • Shall attend administrative, planning, and informational meetings as requested.
  • Shall design appropriate technical training materials or workshops for the purpose of training school district employees in the use of computer applications.
  • Shall engage in trouble-shooting and problem solving to diagnose problems with the office computer network systems, hardware, software, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Researches computer hardware and software applications, vendors, consultants and current technology for the purpose of being knowledgeable on trends, ensuring availability of instructional materials, and recommending applications and purchases.
  • Maintains and ensures the reliability of key operating data and databases.
  • Maintains records relating to inventory, repair and use of office and ROE Academy computer equipment.
  • Assume additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, digital curriculum platforms, and instructional technology coaching.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to educational technology and student data privacy.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, data privacy laws, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Experience managing network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, device management, and technology support operations.
  • Knowledge of K–12 educational technology systems, student information systems, state reporting requirements, and instructional technology integration.

Salary/Benefits

  • Estimated salary - $45,000 - $50,000 per year (commensurate with experience).

Additional Notes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of, and ability to use, Google Workplace, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), including most current and previous versions.
  • Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of sound practices in network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to problem-solve and prioritize a variety of support questions and user needs.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form, and to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to train employees and lead them through changes in procedures, etc.
  • Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
  • Teamwork and consensus-building skills.
