Duties

Donovan Elementary School is seeking a passionate and engaging K–5 Music Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who can foster a love of music, create a positive classroom environment, and build meaningful relationships with students in a small, supportive school community.

Responsibilities:

• Provide standards-based music instruction for students in grades K–5
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that include singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and basic music literacy
• Organize and direct student performances (e.g., concerts and school events)
• Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff to support student growth and school initiatives
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Music Endorsement
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to engage and motivate elementary-aged students
• Experience with elementary music programs preferred
