Duties
La Moille Junior-Senior High School is seeking a dynamic and versatile educator to join our Secondary team. We believe in leveraging our teachers' strengths to best serve our students; therefore, the specific instructional focus and daily schedule will be collaboratively designed based on the successful candidate's specific endorsements and professional experience.
Whether specializing in English Language Arts, Social Sciences, or a combination of both, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that promotes critical thinking, literacy, and civic engagement.
- Developing an instructional focus that meets the evolving needs of our Jr. High and High School students.
- Fostering a classroom environment that encourages student voice and active participation in a full-day teaching schedule.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards for area of focus (ELA and/or Social Sciences).
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Assess student learning and use data to inform instructional practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to support building and district initiatives
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with any of the following endorsements:
- Middle Grades (5-8) ELA
- English Language Arts (9-12)
- Middle Grades (5-8) Social Science
- Social Science: History (9-12)
- Social Science: Political Science (9-12)
- Elementary Education (Self Contained General Education) (Kdg-9)
- Strong knowledge of high school and middle school ELA and/or Social Sciences content and instructional best practices.
- Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills.
Salary/Benefits
Salary will be determined by the negotiated salary schedule according to education and experience. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) base salary begins at $42,943 for the 2026-27 school year.
Single Employee Health Insurance plan, 95% of premium covered by Board of Education.
