Duties

  • Reviews records of students with disabilities who transfer into the district. 
  • Upon request, provide liaison services between the school, the home, and other family service/community agencies.  
  • Participate in the development of IEPs and serve as LEA representative for meetings.  
  • Confer with members of the IEP and Section 504 Team as needed relative to case disposition and follow-up.  
  • Provide comprehensive and appropriate psychological evaluations to determine the academic, functional, and social emotional needs of individual students.  
  • Use assessment results to identify students’ learning needs, develop instructional strategies, and contribute to recommendations regarding students’ eligibility for placement in special education.  
  • Provides consultation to staff regarding assessment and interpretation.  
  • Monitors and coordinates case studies and re-evaluations.  
  • Demonstrates knowledge of laws and regulations for students with disabilities.  
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.  
  • Participate in pre-referral, collaboration, or MTSS meetings with school personnel. 
  • Participate in the development and presentation of in-service workshops for parents /guardians, administration and staff and/or community agencies upon request.      
  • Develops and maintains confidential collegial relationships with all staff. 
  • Attends building and department level meetings as required by The Director of Special services or Building Administration.   

Qualifications

  • Valid/Active Professional Educator’s License through Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) registered in Will County, IL required with the following endorsement: School Psychologist   
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback.  
  • Ability to compose correspondence, reports, and/or other required written materials.  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, inquiries and/or complaints.  
  • Displays courtesy, tact and respect when interacting with others.  
  • Must maintain the highest level of professionalism, integrity, trust, and confidentiality.  

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range:  

New Staff Member- $59,742 (MA +24) - $76,187 

Current Staff MemberPay/increases will be in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Frankfort Teachers’ Association and Frankfort School District 157-C Board of Education.
