Duties
TITLE: Elementary Interventionist
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Illinois Professional Educator License Endorsed for Self-Contained Elementary Education
2. Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience
3. Bilingual (Spanish/English) Skills Desirable
REPORTS TO: Elementary Curriculum Director
JOB GOAL: Facilitates and coordinates the implementation of elementary classroom intervention and
provides instruction to individuals and small groups of students with identified needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Utilizes achievement and other student data to determine placement and needs of students in small
group or individualized instruction.
2. Provides individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs in a pull out and/or
classroom setting.
3. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials utilizing research-based curriculum that is proved to
increase literacy and math achievement.
4. Collaborates with classroom teachers and principals to schedule an intervention time with the least
disruption to delivery of classroom instruction.
5. Monitors progress of students identified for intervention, and facilitates entrance/exit decision-making.
6. Evaluates, analyzes, interprets and reports data to the building principal and classroom teachers to
improve student performance.
7. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to achieve effective participation and
learning in all activities.
8. Communicates with parents and through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and
the intervention program.
9. Maintains records as required by the school and District and makes appropriate reports as directed.
10. Supervises the RTI associate to help guide them in their selection of and delivery of the appropriate
intervention.
11. Provides professional development to RTI associate and other identified staff in interventions.
11. Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the District
and/or professional growth activities.
12. Performs related duties as assigned by district administrators or building principals.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Employed for 180 days.
2. Employed as per conditions established by the board of education.

This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year.
