Anticipated Guidance Counselor/Acadmic Advisor

Duties

 Provide a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the academic, social-emotional, and career readiness needs of students.

  • Offer individual counseling, crisis response, and referrals to outside agencies when appropriate.
  • Assist students with course selection, graduation planning, and postsecondary opportunities.
  • Serve as the district Testing Coordinator by organizing, administering, and ensuring compliance with all state and local assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community agencies to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate student records and participate in school improvement and professional development activities.
  • And all other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Valid ISBE PEL with School Counselor endorsement.
  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of academic advising, social-emotional supports, crisis response, and college/career readiness.
  • Experience with state testing procedures and ability to serve as Testing Coordinator.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Knowledge of student records, confidentiality requirements, and applicable state/federal regulations.

 

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range $41,715 - $71,685.  Board paid TRS, 14 sick days, 3 personal days, health, dental, and vision insurance.
