Duties
La Moille High School is seeking a qualified Social Science Teacher for a part-time (0.50 FTE) position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching three sections per semester, focusing on delivering engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking, civic understanding, and student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards for Social Studies.
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Assess student learning and use data to inform instructional practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to support building and district initiatives.
Salary/Benefits
Salary will be determined by the negotiated salary schedule according to education and experience. The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) base salary begins at $42,943 for the 2026-27 school year with a 0.5 FTE position salary base being $21,472.
Candidates seeking an hourly rate are encouraged. The position will be less than 600 total hours for the school year.

Schedule & Employment Details
- Daily Schedule: Approximately 3 to 4 hours per day.
- TRS-Compliant Hours: This position is designed to be compliant with current Illinois Teacher Retirement System (TRS) regulations.
- Hour Counting: Because the daily schedule is under 5 hours, employment is credited toward the annual limit by actual clock hours worked.
- Annual Limits: This schedule helps retired educators stay within the current 120-paid-day or 600-paid-hour limit (effective through June 30, 2026). Note: Unless extended, limits are scheduled to revert to 100 days/500 hours on July 1, 2026
