Work Based Learning Coordinator

Duties

  • Work schedule – M-F 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Work directly with school district Counselors to assist with their data reporting needs on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Work with districts to enhance and expand College and Career Pathways dual credit opportunities, certifications, and credentialling in Career and Technical Education.
  • Monitor and coordinate the EdSystems 3-year Pathways Enhancement grant.
  • Market WBL programs to all member districts in EFE #300 as well as neighboring EFE’s when asked.
  • Promote CTE internships with industry stakeholders. 
  • Organize industry tours for secondary education students in EFE #300.
  • Foster career exploration with grades 5-12 using VR headsets and ISBE Career Guides.
  • Participate in career exploration events held at schools and/or other locations within the county and neighboring EFE.
  • Promote career and technical education programs with legislative officials.
  • Seek other grant funds to increase and expand programing.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education.
  • Prior classroom teaching experience in education, CTE preferred.
  • Ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders including secondary and post-secondary educators, community organizations, and members of business and industry.

    Skills:

  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Ability to work and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and be deadline oriented.
  • Ability to demonstrate the effective use of technology to complete job responsibilities.
  • Possess a strong commitment to improving employment and economic opportunities for secondary education students in our region.
  • Advocate for CTE Work-Based Learning programs.

Position Summary:

The WBL Coordinator is a full-time position beginning (FY27) July 1, 2026. The individual selected will work with Member Districts to develop and expand access to a range of experiences within Work-Based Learning programs. These hands-on experiences will better prepare students interested in exploring a range of CTE related areas. This position will also involve setting up career exploration activities, team-based challenges, career development experiences and College & Career Pathway Endorsements, including CTE dual credit opportunities
