Duties
Program Management:
- Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children before and after school.
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Develop and maintain a structured schedule, including time for academic support, physical activities, arts and crafts, and recreational games.
Supervision and Staff Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of program assistants or volunteers.
- Develop and maintain a schedule to fully staff the program and coordinate subs as-needed.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff and ensure that they are carrying them out effectively.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss program updates, staff performance, and any issues that may arise.
Communication and Parent Interaction:
- Act as the main point of contact for parents regarding the before/after school program.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their children’s activities and well-being.
- Address parent concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high satisfaction with the program.
- Provide a welcoming environment where children feel valued, safe, and engaged.
Administrative Tasks:
- Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any important communications related to children and staff.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working order.
- Assist with registration and enrollment for the program.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that children follow proper health and safety protocols, including emergency drills, hygiene practices, and nutrition standards.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary.
- Enforce rules and policies for behavior, promoting positive discipline and conflict resolution techniques.
Other Duties: Administration may assign other duties to the Before/After School Coordinator.
