Duties

Provide high quality, nutritious meals for students, staff and visitors.  The food will be prepared according to state and federal guidelines and with proper sanitation and safe food handling techniques.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma and/or advanced degrees.
• At least 3 years of relevant food service experience preferred.
• Possess the Certified Food Protection Manager License (pass the ANAB-accredited exam).
• Possess a State of Illinois Food Handler Training License.
• School Nutrition Association Certificate in School Nutrition is not required but recommended.
• Must complete the required annual continuing education/training.
• Preferred experience and good general knowledge of school nutrition operations including quantity food preparation, equipment, recipes, etc.
• Demonstrates skills and knowledge in supervising, leading, motivating, and evaluating staff.
• Ability to understand and communicate basic oral and written instructions.
• Basic understanding and experience with personal computer and programs.
• Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents and staff in a respectful/courteous manner
