JOB OPPORTUNITY: Junior/Senior High School Principal (Grades 6-12)
Lebanon Community Unit School District #9
Location: Lebanon, Illinois
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Position Overview:
Lebanon CUSD #9 is seeking a visionary, student-centered leader to serve as the Principal for
our Junior/Senior High School. We are looking for an administrator who is passionate about
fostering a positive school culture, driving academic excellence, and supporting the unique
developmental needs of students from 6th through 12th grade.
The successful candidate will lead a dedicated staff, engage with a supportive community, and
oversee the daily operations of a combined junior/senior high campus.
Key Responsibilities
*Instructional Leadership: Lead the implementation of high-quality curriculum and
innovative instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
*School Culture: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment that
promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
*Staff Development: Conduct formal and informal evaluations and provide ongoing
mentorship to certified and non-certified staff.
*Community Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between the school, parents, and
the Lebanon community; attend extracurricular activities and athletic events.
*Administrative Management:Oversee building budgets, master scheduling, and
compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
*Certification: Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a
General Administrative (Type 75) or Principal Endorsement.
*Education: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field.
*Experience: Previous administrative experience (Assistant Principal or Principal) is
preferred; background in special education is preferred; strong classroom teaching
background is required.
*Skills: Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and data-informed
decision-making skills.
Compensation & Benefits
*Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 (Commensurate with education and experience).
*Contract: 11-month or 12-month contract (negotiable).
*Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
options; Board-paid TRS retirement contribution; and professional development
allotment.
