Duties

  • Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes the completion of tasks independently.
  • Interacts positively and effectively with all staff and students.
  • Supports the District technology department by assisting with various technical issues relating to staff, students, and parents.
  • Completes the set-up, deployment, troubleshooting, and management of Chromebooks.
  • Troubleshoots software issues, including internet-related applications.
  • Completes routine upgrading of computers.
  • Troubleshoots hardware issues for students and staff.
  • Manages the help desk email and ticketing system.
  • Supports departmental processes.
  • Completes the re-imaging of student and teacher computers as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with department policies regarding hardware usage.
  • Facilitates the set-up and support of standardized tests on school-issued devices.
  • Orders and replaces toners for staff.
  • Ensures projectors and screens are working for presentations and events.
  • Maintains a current and accurate inventory list of technology items.
  • Supports student and staff computers.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Google Workspace/G-Suite
  • At least one year of experience with:
    • Supporting Windows laptops, Macbooks, Chromebooks, and iPads;
    • Installing and troubleshooting projectors, document cameras, copiers, and printers;
    • Supporting audio-video equipment, displays, digital signage, and video conferencing;
    • Working with cloud-based software as a service;
    • Project-related experience, such as the large-scale rollout of devices;
    • Technical specifications for standardized tests;
    • Troubleshooting wireless and wired issues;
    • Supporting VoIP phones or SIP phones;
    • Inventory management systems;
    • Ticket systems.
  • The ability to:
    • Read, write, and comprehend technical documentation;
    • Set up, operate, maintain, and repair computers, laptops, Chromebooks, and other devices.
    • Prioritize issues based on impact on the school district;
    • Perform hardware and software upgrades/configurations on computers and similar devices.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Technician supports and repairs the District's various technologies.   The position requires a blend of excellent customer service skills, high technical skills, and the desire to learn new technologies.  The IT Technician will report to the Director of Information Systems and Network Security and works closely with the Lead Technician.

Salary/Benefits

  • Starting at $25.00/hour- $26.15/hour
  • 260 Day Work Year
