Duties
JOB GOAL: To provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, primarily in a resource room or through push-in/pull-out services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides targeted, data-driven reading, writing, and math interventions through specialized small-group and one-on-one sessions.
- Partners with general education faculty to adapt lessons and assessments, ensuring accessibility and alignment with diverse learning styles and developmental needs.
- Conducts frequent progress monitoring and evaluations to track academic gains and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Actively contributes to IEP meetings, goal development, and evaluations, ensuring all plans are individualized and measurable.
- Maintains meticulous documentation and provides detailed meeting minutes to support legal standards and service planning.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of current educational programs and proposes strategic recommendations for enhancement.
- Contributes to departmental leadership through active participation in staff meetings and continuous professional development.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the building principal/assistant principal, and other district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
Qualifications
-Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure.
-LBS 1 endorsement required.
-Complete the required professional development to retain certification.
-Successful completion of fingerprint-based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.
