Elementary School Teacher

Duties

This position (Grades 4 & 5) is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and faith-filled learning environment that supports the academic, spiritual, and social development of students. The teacher will integrate faith values and teachings into daily instruction while delivering a rigorous and developmentally appropriate curriculum. This position also includes an AM and PM homeroom. Lunch and recess are duty-free.

Faith Formation & Catholic Identity

  • Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and religious activities
  • Support the spiritual development of students through prayer, reflection, and service opportunities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver effective instruction across several content areas
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to engage learners
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly

Classroom Environment

  • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
  • Set clear expectations for behavior aligned with school values
  • Foster a classroom culture of kindness, responsibility, and collaboration

Student Support & Communication

  • Monitor and communicate student progress with parents/guardians regularly
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to meet student needs
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Adhere to school policies and diocesan guidelines
  • Contribute positively to the school community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field 
  • Valid state teaching license (or ability to obtain)
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families
