Duties
Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a qualified High School Physical Education Teacher to provide engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes physical fitness, health, and lifelong wellness. This individual will foster a positive learning environment that supports student growth, participation, and achievement. This position will start with the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Physical Education curriculum aligned to Illinois Learning Standards
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Maintain a safe and structured learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback
- Supervise students in all physical education settings, including locker room areas, and ensure a safe and respectful environment
- Support student privacy needs in accordance with district procedures
- Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and administration
- Communicate effectively with students and families
- Support building and district initiatives
- Assignments may be adjusted to meet student supervision and program needs

NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
