Duties
PBL High School is seeking an English Teacher to join our secondary education team. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that fosters a love for literature, improves critical thinking, and develops strong writing and communication skills. We are looking for an educator who can engage students with diverse interests and prepare them for college and career-level literacy.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership: Design and deliver engaging lessons in English Language Arts, including literature analysis, composition, grammar, and vocabulary.
Assessment & Data: Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student growth and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, respectful, and organized classroom environment that encourages student participation.
Student Support: Provide regular feedback on student writing and offer additional support for students who require remediation or enrichment.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, or a related field.
Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Secondary English Language Arts (9-12) endorsement.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and Benefits: Based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Insurance: Employee health insurance is provided by the district.
