Duties

The Principal is responsible for the general operations of Freeburg Elementary School, including:

• Leadership: Building collaborative relationships with staff, students, and the community.
• Student Support: Maintaining discipline through proactive measures and fostering a safe, caring learning environment.
• Instructional Oversight: Supporting teacher growth and student achievement through data analysis, informal and formal observations, and systematic initiatives (MTSS, RTI, and SEL).
• Management: Supervising personnel, curriculum, district-aligned school goals, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement.
• Education: Master’s degree in Education (including required coursework in Education).
• Experience: 4–5 years of teaching and/or administrative experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of elementary-level management and instructional best practices.

Salary/Benefits

• Salary Range: $80,000-$96,000 based on experience 
• Benefits: District paid single health and dental insurance. Board paid TRS. The position also includes 14 sick days and 3 personal days

Freeburg CCSD #70 is seeking a full-time Principal that will lead approximately 500 students (grades 3-8) and 55 staff members.
