Duties
Position Summary:
The IMPACT Student Liaison plays a critical role in supporting at-risk students in grades 4-12, with a focus on academics, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development. This position involves maintaining a caseload of up to 32 students and acting as a key advocate for each student by developing individualized
success plans, setting and monitoring SMART goals, and collaborating with families, educators, and
community resources to support student achievement and well-being. The IMPACT Student Liaison is
responsible for fostering strong relationships with students, families, and school staff, providing proactive
communication and support, and ensuring that students are on track for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a caseload of up to 32 students in grades 4-12, providing individualized support in the areas
of academics, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional skills.
• Ensure that appropriate parental consent has been obtained for each student within the Alternative
Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) in accordance with school district requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Student Success Plans for each student.
• Create and implement SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for each
student. Track progress and adjust strategies as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all student interactions, progress, and
interventions in compliance with school and district policies.
• Facilitate frequent in-person check-ins with students to monitor progress, provide support, and adjust
strategies as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between families and the school district to ensure clear communication and
collaboration in the development and implementation of Student Success Plans.
• Work collaboratively with school leaders, educators, and staff to ensure alignment of support
strategies and to promote success for students.
• Proactively and frequently communicate with parents regarding student performance, growth,
successes, and areas of concern.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of transportation for students to and from school if necessary.
• Monitor and track student attendance, intervening as needed to address any attendance issues and
support student success.
• Review and monitor student behavior logs and academic performance, intervening and providing
support as necessary. Respond and intervene in student crises in accordance with school policies.
• Provide immediate and effective intervention for students in crisis, utilizing de-escalation strategies
and following school policies.
• Participate in applicable school meetings, including behavior meetings, teacher institutes, and team
planning sessions.
• Actively participate in training opportunities to develop advocacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and
crisis intervention skills.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must meet the minimum requirements for a short-term substitute license (TRS licensed position).
• Experience working with at-risk or underserved youth, particularly in a case management or support
role. Experience in behavior management, social-emotional learning, and/or crisis intervention is
preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with
students, parents, school staff, and community members.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and responsibilities
simultaneously.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and school administrators.
• Ability to respond effectively to student crises and provide de-escalation and crisis intervention
strategies.
• Demonstrate patience and perseverance when working with students, particularly in challenging
situations or when faced with difficult behavior.
• Willingness to be trained in advocacy skills, including the ability to negotiate, compromise, and
confront conflict, particularly in student support settings.
• A passion for working with at-risk or underserved youth and a commitment to creating a safe and
supportive learning environment for all students.
Salary/Benefits
Salary Range: $42,500-$50,000

Additional Notes
Work Environment:
The IMPACT Student Liaison will work primarily in school-based settings, including direct interaction with
students in classrooms, common areas, and during designated check-in times. Occasional off-site work may
be required, community outreach, family engagement events, or collaboration with external agencies or
partners. The position requires regular communication with students, parents, and school staff, as well as a
willingness to engage in difficult conversations with families and stakeholders.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Student Liaison Coordinator through regular performance
reviews, including feedback from families, school district staff and administration, as well as the Student
Liaison Coordinator. Evaluation will focus on the effectiveness of student support, achievement of student
success plans, communication with families and staff, and the ability to manage caseload responsibilities.
*Additional training days will be necessary in April through June 2025. The 186-day contract includes a start date of July 1 and an ending date in late June, following a traditional school year calendar.
