Duties
Mahomet-Seymour High School is seeking a qualified Social Studies teacher for a 0.50 FTE position beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking, civic understanding, and student engagement. This position is part-time and will include a partial teaching schedule as assigned (3 sections per semester).
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned to Illinois Learning Standards for Social Studies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and engagement.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Support building and district initiatives.
Salary/Benefits
Please see the attached 2025-2026 Salary Schedule and summary of Employee Benefits. This position will be prorated according to the 0.50 FTE assignment. NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
