Duties
Mahomet-Seymour High School is seeking a qualified High School Science Teacher to join our team for the 2026?2027 school year. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, standards-based science instruction that promotes critical thinking, inquiry, and student achievement. Teaching assignments may include a combination of courses in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Earth Science.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement instruction aligned to Illinois Learning Standards for science.
- Develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons that promote scientific thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
- Assess student progress and use data to inform instructional decisions.
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Support district and building initiatives.
