Duties
Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is currently accepting applications for an English as a Second Language teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties include:
- Screen new students using WIDA for Kindergarten or WIDA online screeners
- Write formal ELL plans and hold annual planning meetings for each of our students
- Administer the annual ACCESS exam
- Help make school accessible for multilingual children and their families
- Provide support within the classroom for students Pre-k through 12th grade
- Support students through academic content and social situations by collaborating with classroom teachers
- Support teachers in building strategies to help make the curriculum more accessible
- Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding student data, progress, and acquisition goals
- Assist in registering multilingual families for school
- Hire and navigate interpreters when needed
- Translate or hire translation services for district-wide documents
- Disaggregate data to determine student areas of need
- Attend MTSS, IEP, and co-plan meetings that involve ELL students
- Provide classroom teachers with accommodation lists, tools, supplies, and technology support as needed
- Provide testing accommodations
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL Endorsement or interest in obtaining ESL endorsement.

Please see the attached current 2025-2026 Salary Schedule (our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year).
